Good conditions + strong club participation + energetic mobiles = record turnout! For the first time more than 100 entries were received, reporting activity from at least 63 counties. FRRL, WIARC, and several other clubs did a great job of getting their members on the air. The Green River Valley ops put forth an all-mobile effort with excellent results. W9MSE drove in from WI to challenge KF9D for the top mobile spot. N9JF and KN9T were popular guys as usual, cranking out 3x and 4x QSOs from their county line QTHs. Lots of out-of-state stations added to the fun. With the sunspot cycle near its peak, it wasn't hard to catch your limit of DX mults on 15m or 10m. Heck, even fone was not as conspicuously absent as in past years. Thanks to everyone for taking part. The year 2000 will see the 38th running of ILQP. Could this be the year to put all 102 counties on the air? With enough mobiles and portables, it could certainly be done! Our neighbors in bordering states are especially welcome to help make it happen. Planning can be handled via email, with proposed operations posted on the RAMS website. If youĈd like to be involved, send email to wb9goj@arrl.net or write to RAMS address on the last page.

KI9A: Wow! Seems to be much higher out of state activity this year, but we still need to promote this thing within the state, especially the southern half. Thanks to the mobiles and portables. N0EPT: I had a blast, although next year I need to find better logging software. KX9X: This was a LOT of fun! W9ZEN: Band conditions good. Next year maybe we can get some of the southern counties to join us. KE0FT (K9WM op): What fun! Our 3rd year in a row and learn something new each time! LU6EF: Very pleased to enter IQP. I do hope to get better results next year! Many thanks for the nice Sunday evening. K9BG: Lived in IL for 40+ years. Moved to Indiana this June. Nice to hear the gang. Many thanks to the mobiles. NU4N: Hope to put Massac County on next year. I live in Paducah KY just across from Massac County IL. AF9T: Great conditions on 20 and 40 meters. W2UDT: I've been participating for many years and finally got all IL counties last year. WA3HAE: Had a blast trying to keep up with all the mobiles. Still couldn't find anyone in the southern part of the state. Thanks to everyone for all the Q's. It gets better every year! Mobiles - keep up the great work! VE2EM: Great participation and good conditions! A record personal score. W3DYA: Would love to be /M in southern IL, but too soon after /M in PA QSO party for this guy. Maybe next year! W5NR: Good party! But hope for better propagation and time openings next year. N9JF: Since the biggest job has always been tossing lines up in the trees for antenna supports, we thought we'd be really smart last year and leave some HEAVY cord in place. Just attach the antennas, pull and *presto*, right? Wrong. On the north end, we found only some tattered pieces of the original cord. The parts we found had apparently been chewed by some sort of varmint. How good can nylon taste?
